Buddhism and Trauma

I am currently working on a new project to explore the relationship between trauma healing and spiritual awakening. Expanding on my earlier work examining how implicit background assumptions shape the transmission of Buddhism to the modern world, this project investigates how trauma—both personal and collective— can distort Westerners’ understanding of Buddhist teachings and impede meditation practice.
